PUBLIC NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL ACTION WEST WHITELAND TOWNSHIP NOTICE IS GIVEN pursuant to §108 of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, 53 P.S. §10108, that the Board of Supervisors of West Whiteland Township on June 10, 2026, adopted Ordinance No. 488 as follows: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 30, “STREET CONSTRUCTION,” OF CHAPTER 281, “SUBDIVISION AND LAND DEVELOPMENT”, OF THE WEST WHITELAND TOWNSHIP CODE OF ORDINANCES TO UPDATE CONSTRUCTION, PAVING AND BACKFILLING STANDARDS FOR NEWLY CONSTRUCTED STREETS. Section 1. Amends Sub-paragraph B(1) of Section 281-30 to require a six-inch layer of stone subbase to base courses. Section 2. Amends Sub-paragraph B(2) to establish that all paving courses are constructed in accordance with PennDOT Publication 408 specifications. Section 3. Amends Sub-paragraph B(6)(d) to require a subbase depth of six-inches for all local residential streets. Section 4. Amends Sub-paragraph B(7)(d) to require a subbase depth of six-inches for all other street construction. Section 5. Amends Sub-paragraph E(2)(c) to clarify backfill granular material standards. Section 6. The provisions of this Ordinance are severable. Section 7. This Ordinance is effective immediately. This publication is intended to provide notification of Ordinance No. 488 and that any person claiming a right to challenge the validity of the ordinance or decision must bring legal action within 30 days of the publication of the second notice.
