NOTICE TO THE RESIDENTS OF BETHEL TOWNSHIP The Board of Supervisors of Bethel Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. will hold a public hearing at the Bethel Township Building located at 60 Klahr Road, Bethel, Pennsylvania in Bethel Township and immediately thereafter will consider the enactment of the Ordinance summarized below. The complete title and a summary of the proposed Ordinance are as follows AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF BETHEL, BERKS COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, TO AMEND THE BETHEL TOWNSHIP SUBDIVISION AND LAND DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE OF 2006, AS AMENDED, TO AMEND ADMINISTRATIVE REGULATIONS REGARDING RECEIPT, REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF SUBDIVISION AND LAND DEVELOPMENT PLANS AND REGULATIONS FOR WATER SUPPLY CONNECTIONS AND TO ESTABLISH REGULATIONS REGARDING CONNECTIONS TO FIRE HYDRANTS AND ACCESS TO A SECURED EMERGENCY ACCESS ROAD REGARDLESS OF DEVELOPMENT TYPE, SIZE OR SQUARE FOOTAGE OF STRUCTURES AND EXTERNAL FUEL STORAGE Section 1 amends the Bethel Township Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance of 2006, as amended, Chapter 3 entitled “Procedures”, Section 3.02 entitled “Pre-Application” in its entirety, as set forth in full in the proposed ordinance. Section 2 amends certain subsections of Chapter 3 entitled “Procedures”, Section 3.03 entitled “Minor Subdivision” as set forth in full in the proposed ordinance. Section 3 amends certain subsections of Chapter 3 entitled “Procedures”, Section 3.04 entitled “Major Subdivision or Land Development – Preliminary Plan” as set forth in full in the proposed ordinance. Section 4 amends certain subsections of Chapter 3 entitled “Procedures”, Section 3.05 entitled “Major Subdivision or Land Development – Final Plan” as set forth in full in the proposed ordinance. Section 5 amends Chapter 5 entitled “Required Improvements and Design Standards”, Section 5.10 entitled “Water Supply” in its entirety, as set forth in full in the proposed ordinance. Section 6 amends Chapter 5 entitled “Required Improvements and Design Standards” to delete Section 5.11.C.16 in its entirety and mark said Section as Reserved. Section 7 amends Chapter 5 entitled “Required Improvements and Design Standards” to delete certain language from Section 5.13 as set forth in full in the proposed ordinance. Section 8 provides that all other provisions of the Bethel Township Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance of 2006, as amended, shall remain unchanged and in full force and effect except as modified by the proposed Ordinance. Section 9 is the repealer. Section 10 provides that the provisions of the Ordinance are severable. Section 11 provides for the effective date.
