INVITATION TO BID – NOTICE TO BIDDERS TOWNSHIP OF CUMRU Sealed Proposals for Refuse Collection and Recycling Collection Services 2027-2030 will be received by the Board of Commissioners of Cumru Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania at the Township Municipal Building, located at 1775 Welsh Road, Mohnton, PA, 19540, until 10:00 AM, prevailing time, on July 28, 2026. All bids will be opened and read aloud on the same date at the Township Municipal Building at approximately 10:30 AM prevailing time. Interested bidders are invited to attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting to be held at the Township Municipal Building on July 15, 2026, at 1:00 PM, prevailing time. The Township is soliciting bids for a) mechanical refuse collection and b) mechanical and/or c) manual recycling collection. d) The Township is also soliciting bids for manual collection of residential units in the Flying Hills area where containers cannot be placed at the curb line for mechanical collection. Copies of specifications may be obtained at the Township Municipal Building, located at 1775 Welsh Road, Mohnton, PA, between the hours of 8:00 AM-12:00 PM and 12:30 PM-4:30 PM, prevailing time. Township of Cumru hereby reserves the right to reject any/or all bids submitted or any part thereof or item therein. The Township also reserves the right to waive any defects, errors, omissions, irregularities, or informalities in bids received, as permitted by law. All bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond (original, no copy) payable to the Township of Cumru, in the amount of 10% of the bid price(s), for the first year of the contract. The sum of the bid price(s) is the sum of all bids and options included in the bidder’s submission. It is the privilege of the Township of Cumru to accept or reject any and all bids, and to award the contract to the bidder(s) deemed to be in the best interest of the Township. In consideration of the right to provide refuse and recycling collection services for the Township of Cumru, the successful bidder agrees to indemnify, defend, and save the Township of Cumru harmless against and from any and all claims, demands or causes of action by or on behalf of any person or persons, firm or firms, corporation or corporations, arising out of the operation, collection, management and control of the collection of refuse and recycling for the Township of Cumru.
