PUBLIC NOTICE Pursuant to the “Noncoal Pursuant to the “Noncoal Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act” and the “Clean Streams Law” notice is hereby given that Gill Quarries, Inc., 3201 Potshop Road, East Norriton, Pennsylvania 19403 has made application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to renew NPDES Permit PA0013731 for authorization to continue discharging up to 0.1 million gallons per day of water from a sediment pond and 0.5 million gallons per day of quarry pit water to Stony Creek. Gill Quarries, Inc. currently operates a surface mine and support operations under SMP# 8073SM5A1C15. The mine site is located in East Norriton Township, Montgomery County and is known as the East Norriton Quarry. The receiving stream for the NPDES discharge point is the West Branch of Stony Creek, which is classified as Trout Stock Fishery (TSF) and Migratory Fishery (MF) in 25 PA Code Chapter 93. The surface mine permit area encompasses 38.31 acres and is situated at the southwest corner of Township Line Road (SR 3001) and Potshop Road (SR 3004). The Lansdale Quadrangle, Pennsylvania 7.5 Minute Series contains the area described, 14.1 inches left and 8.0 inches up from the lower right corner of the map, latitude 40° 10’ 06.85”, longitude 75° 21’ 0.210”. A copy of the application is available for public inspection at the East Norriton Township Municipal Building, 2501 Stanbridge Street, East Norriton, PA 19401, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
