Notice of Request for Prequalification Proposals Bid 26-09 - Brearley House Masonry Restoration and Interior Repairs The Township of Lawrence is seeking general contractors for prequalification for masonry restoration and interior repairs at the Brearley House, 100 Meadow Road, Lawrence Township, NJ. Prequalification packets must be received by the Township of Lawrence before 10:00am prevailing time on Thursday, May 21, 2026. The prequalification package, including a draft set of plans, may be obtained by contacting James Parvesse at jparvesse@lawrencetwp.com or 609 844 7087 in the Engineering Department, Lawrence Township Municipal Building, 2207 Lawrence Road, Lawrence Township, NJ 08648, beginning May 4, 2026 during regular business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Requirements are available in both digital or hard copy and no fee is required. All prospective bidders are encouraged but not required to visit the project site. The work is for the Brearley House Masonry Restoration and Interior Repairs. The site is located at 100 Meadow Road in Lawrence Township, 08648 and is listed on the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places. All work done on this project must conform to the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties (revised 1995, current 2017), and is subject to review by the New Jersey Historic Trust. The exterior and interior of the Brearley House will be restored per the construction drawings. The building will continue to be operated by the Lawrence Township Historical Society and its use as a museum continued. Project elements include Project Supervision and Administration of Historic Preservation Projects; Masonry Repair for a Historic Site; Wood Repair and Replacement in a Historic Building; Finish Restoration in a Historic Building; and Plumbing Fixture Installation in a Historic Building. The Township of Lawrence will notify in writing the Prospective Bidders who have been determined to be Qualified Bidders, as well as those Prospective Bidders who are deemed ineligible to receive plans and specifications. Only those determined to be pre-qualified for Historic Restoration for this project will be invited to submit bids for the work. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and P.L. 1975 C. 127 (N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq.) regarding equal employment opportunities and with the requirements of P.L. 1977 C.33 regarding corporate and/or partnership ownership.
